About Us

AnyOrbit is an emerging space-technology venture originating from the Institute of Space Systems (IRS) at the University of Stuttgart. With our planned founding in 2026, we are preparing to bring academically proven satellite technologies into the commercial market—bridging the gap between innovative research and reliable in-orbit solutions.

Our mission is to provide accessible, flight-proven satellite platforms for organizations seeking dependable access to Low Earth Orbit (LEO) and Medium Earth Orbit (MEO). Built on years of heritage from IRS-developed missions such as EIVE, Flying Laptop, and ROMEO, our systems combine academic excellence with practical operational experience in space.

Our Vision

At AnyOrbit, we envision a future where access to Earth orbit is simpler, more flexible, and tailored to real mission needs. We aim to enable companies, research institutions, and emerging space actors to deploy their payloads—whether hardware or software—swiftly and efficiently.

A central pillar of our vision is offering software-defined payload opportunities in MEO, leveraging the Flying Laptop satellite and future IRS-derived platforms. This unique capability provides customers with an in-orbit testbed for applications that benefit from MEO environments, such as Earth observation enhancement, resilient communication concepts, and navigation-related developments.

Our Foundations

Our work is built on:

  • Proven satellite bus heritage from University of Stuttgart missions

  • In-house engineering expertise spanning avionics, propulsion, mission operations, and payload integration

  • A growing ecosystem of partners across academia and industry

  • Commitment to bridging research and commercialization for small to medium-class spacecraft

Looking Ahead

As we move toward our official founding, we are actively seeking early customers and partners interested in shaping future LEO and MEO mission capabilities with us. Whether you are exploring new payload concepts, requiring a dedicated satellite platform, or seeking a resilient in-orbit environment for software development, AnyOrbit is here to collaborate.
